#1085 - How to create a target list using a filter report
Hi, Using MailChimp I used to have a set level of criteria and then would use that and import that list into Mailchimp. Now I have installed SugarChimp how do I create a list using a predefined set of criteria and add those contacts to the target list for mailing? I have tried using the filters but they are too basic, I didnt know if there was a recommended method? Thanks,

Hello, the easiest way to do this is to create a Report in Sugar to define exactly which contacts you want to add to your Target List and send to MailChimp. After you create your report based on the Contacts module, go to your Sugar Target list and scroll to the Contacts and click the action button on the right and you can select your report you just created and add those people to the list. Once you set your list to sync to MailChimp, give it a few minutes and you'll see everyone show up in MailChimp.
Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hi, I have created the report and I can't see how this then can be imported into the Target lists? Can you go through that in more detail please.
From what you explained, the bit i don't understand is: "After you create your report based on the Contacts module, go to your Sugar Target list and scroll to the Contacts and click the action button on the right and you can select your report you just created and add those people to the list"
When I go to the target list module, there isn't a list of contacts, only a list of target lists. - unless there is something i'm missing here?
Thanks,

Sure, I'd be happy to.
Go into your Target List record by clicking on it. You should see something like this: s1
Find the Contacts subpanel at the bottom and click the action down arrow, then click "Select from Reports": s2
It will bring up a list of reports based on the Contact module. Select your report and it will add the people on your report to the target list.
Once everyone is on your list, you can set it to sync to MailChimp (if you haven't already) by editing the Target List and setting the "MailChimp List" field to the MailChimp list you'd like to sync it to.
Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
