#1103 - Old List Sync is not working

Closed Bug? created by Rolustech 9 years ago

I have sent a mailer using mailchimp and imported data into mailchimp.

Now i have created a list in Sugar and trying to sync records and their Hardbounce and Unsubscribe status in sugar.

But List and Email sync is only working fro newly created list and it is not sync old list.

The health status is also fine and no pending Sync.

Please assist.

Hello, I can help with this.

For everything to sync correctly, you need to have a synced list in place before you send any mailers. The steps would be as follows:

    1) Create a Target List in Sugar and add everyone to it you want to send an email to. 2) Create a List in MailChimp. 3) Sync the Sugar Target List by going to your Target List in Sugar, click edit and select the MailChimp List in the "MailChimp List" field, click save. 4) After the Scheduler runs the contacts/targets/leads/accounts on your Sugar Target List will be sent to the MailChimp List 5) Now you can send your mailer in MailChimp 6) When the mailer is sent, as people unsubscribe and hardbounce MailChimp notifies SugarChimp and it will automatically mark emails in Sugar as unsubscribed and invalid for you if you do steps 1-4 before sending your campaign.

Did you follow these steps? Or did you send your campaign before syncing the list?

Also, please make sure you're on the latest version of SugarChimp 7.1.4.

    Thanks!

We recently purchased sugarchimp and using "SugarChimp Version: 7.1.3b"

No my steps were different. 1- Create a List in Mailchimp 2- Imported data from CSV 3- Sent the campaign 4- Created Targetlist in Sugar 5- Added Mailchimp list in Target list

Waiting them to be synced. So looks like these steps would never work using Sugarchimp to sync the data.

Do we have any way around to get the hardbouces from Mailchimp and sync them into sugar email addresses status?

We sent our campaign before syncing the list and now waiting for Sync.

      Thanks for the info.

Since you sent the campaign before the list was synced, the integration did not know it needed to track the data. When you create new lists you have to sync your list first and then it will work. For the future, follow my steps above.

The best practice is that you start in Sugar and then sync your contacts to MailChimp, then send your campaigns from MailChimp.

If the list is still synced and you try to send another campaign now, it will track the unsubscribes and bounces. To get the bounces from the old campaign you will need to go to MailChimp, go to your campaign, click the Activity tab and select "Bounces". You can export that list and either manually update your data in sugar or write a script to do it for you.

Let me know if you have other questions.

      Thanks!
