Hello, if you want to add Sugar Accounts to a MailChimp List, the first thing you need to do is find the Sugar Target List you are syncing with MailChimp. Then in the Accounts subpanel of the Sugar Target List, you can add any Accounts to the list. Once the scheduler has time to run, you will find the Accounts in MailChimp.
A couple things to note:
1) The Accounts you want to sync to MailChimp need to have an email address. Accounts that do not have email addresses will not go to MailChimp.
2) If you go to Admin > SugarChimp Field Mapping, in the far-right column you can setup which Account fields sync to the MailChimp fields. However, if a Sugar Contact has the same email address as a Sugar Account and they are both synced, data that is changed on the MailChimp side will update both records in Sugar based on the Field Mapping you setup.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Feel free to send us any screenshots at support@sugarchimp.com Thanks!

I have read below over and over again, but i am sorry to say, makes no sense to me.
I simply want to be able to setup new account & leads in my Sugarcrm, and when I setup a customer choose which mailing list(s) the customer should be added to (the same, ofcourse, goes for my excisting accounts & leads)
So basically still stuck

Got it, so the way SugarChimp works is it links a Sugar Target List to a MailChimp List. The first thing you will need to do is setup a list to sync between Sugar and MailChimp. Have you done this yet?
If not, here are the instructions to do so: https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/docs/SugarChimp/how-to-sync-a-new-list
Once you have a list setup to sync, whenever someone sets up a new Account or Lead in Sugar, to add them to MailChimp, all you need to do is go to your Sugar Target List, and add the Account and Lead to the Target List. When you add them to the Sugar Target List, SugarChimp will send them to MailChimp.
Does that help clear things up?

I see - then the module is pretty much useless, if you can not add to a list while you are "on" the customer.
Then if you need to add a user to a list, you would have to exit the "account screen" - mark the customer, press add to target list - choose you list - press ok................... Impossible to have any salesman (women) do that.
I had hoped, while typing in customerinformation, you could (e.g. when typing the email, you could choose memner of group "mobile" and group "voip"
and then when done save.
From I am reading, that is not possible?

This is all certainly possible. There are two pieces to it: 1) setting up your field 2) making sure everyone is added to your Sugar Target List.
1) What you would do is create a MailChimp Group called 'Type' which would have your values 'mobile', 'voip', etc. You would create a similar field on your Sugar Accounts/Leads. These fields would then be linked together using the Field Mapping tool.
Whenever your Sugar users are adding or editing Accounts/Leads, they can simply make their selection in this new 'type' field (or whatever you want to call it).
2) The only thing left to do is to tell MailChimp whenever new Accounts/Leads are added. The way most people accomplish this, is they will periodically update their target list with the latest data (daily, weekly, monthly, whichever best fits your needs). You can do this by going to the Target List, going to the Accounts/Leads subpanel, select all existing records and add them. This will add anyone who isn't already on the list.
If you do not want to manually update your target list this way, you can use this tool from a partner of ours that will automatically add new data to the target list for you: https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/addons/quick2list-sugarcrm-dynamic-target-list
Doing this will give your users the ability to simply make a selection like you are wanting, and they will be added to MailChimp.

Hello, just following up here.
Were you able to give what I suggested a try? Any luck?

Hi, Sorry to say - but I have gotten grey hair over this. Basically I am deeply frustrated as I simply am not able to get this to work.
It seems as a basically very simple thing, is very very complicated - or maybe I am just missing a big point some where

We definitely never want anyone to get frustrated with this. Sorry about that! Always let us know if you continue to struggle with something.
I'll reach out via email and we can get a screenshare setup to walk through everything. Be looking for my email. Thanks!

I'm going to close this case out, but wanted to close the loop for anyone that comes across this. The primary issue were some odd mysql errors on the system, but after those were cleared up SugarChimp started working great. Feel free to open a new case if anything else comes up. Thanks!
