#1405 - Uploading lists from Sugar to Mail chimp 2 issues

Closed Bug? created by clairelupton 9 years ago

The list will not populate sugar from Mailchimp. I am uploading it but it is not appearing.

We have had issues with the data as the original target list I created was correct but at a later date the data was incorrect as the target list seemed to have re-set and changed in Sugar. Would this be the reason for the data changing?

Thanks

Hi Claire, happy to help with this. The first thing I would suggest is upgrading to the latest version of SugarChimp. It looks like you're on an older version.

You can do this by going to your orders https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/orders and downloading SugarChimp for Sugar 6. Go to Sugar > Admin > Module Loader and upload the zip file and then click install and commit. Once you are redirected to the License Validation page, you're all upgraded. There's no need to uninstall the previous version. The upgrade will not change any of your current syncs.

Are you saying that you imported a new list into MailChimp but it's not showing up into Sugar? Did you try going to the Admin > SugarChimp Configuration, click on the MailChimp Configuration tab, and telling SugarChimp you have a new list you want to send to Sugar?

What do you mean by the Sugar Target List was reset?

Any additional clues you have will be really helpful. Thanks!

What do you mean by the Sugar Target List was reset? Once the above step is completed, the Target List disappears from Sugar

I think what you're running into is that a single Sugar Target List can only be synced with a single MailChimp List. So once you say Sugar Target List A is being synced with MailChimp List A, you can't sync Sugar Target List A with any other lists without unsyncing it from MailChimp List A first.

If you go to Sugar and go to the Target Lists module from the header menu bar at the top, you should still be able to see all of your Sugar Target Lists there. There's nothing in SugarChimp that will delete a Sugar Target List, we just won't show the Sugar Target List in some views if it's already being synced with a MailChimp List.

I'm going to send you an email shortly asking for more specific details. Thanks!

Hi Claire, just closing the loop here. We were able to get things working. Part of the reason things weren't syncing was because the Contacts in Sugar were marked as opted out and SugarChimp will not send Contacts to MailChimp who are marked as opted out in Sugar. Closing the case. Let us know if you need anything else. Thanks!
