#1753 - Not all lists are showing in Admin module - SugarChimp Configuration
Hi,
One of our users is trying to link 2 SugarCRM Target lists with Mailchimp lists with the same name in the admin module, SugarChimp Configuration section. It appears that not all MailChimp lists are being displayed, although they do show when looking at the lists in the Target Lists themselves. Is there a limit to the number of lists that can be shown ? We have more than 100 lists at the moment. Is there a difference between setting the 'MailChimp List' and 'Create new MailChimp subscribers as' within the Target List module and the SugarChimp Configuration process ? Many thanks.

Hey Shaun,
I just want to clarify that I know what you are trying to do. SugarChimp does not let two Target Lists sync with 1 MC List. So, as long as you have two different MC Lists with the same name, then this process is feasible. However, we recommend keeping the number of lists as small as possible in MailChimp. Ideally, you can pass your records into MailChimp in one master list, along with all the data that you need to segment on. From here, you campaign based on your segments, and are able to keep your subscriber count as low as possible. That may not always be possible, but I would be very interested to hear what you guys are using overs 100 lists for!
As far as your current setup, MailChimp puts a limit on the api calls that could be restrictring to only show the first 100 lists. We also remove any synced lists from the configuration process, so if your list is not showing there, it could also be synced already. In your dropdown from the Target List module, synced lists are left in there, but have asterisks to denote those that are already synced.
There is no difference between using the configuration step to setup your sync and using the dropdowns from the actual Target List record. As long as your users know which list to choose with duplicate names then there should be no issues syncing that way. It is important to note that Sugar will automatically queue a Sugar to MailChimp sync when you use your Target List module to sync the lists. Let me know if you have any questions on that!
If I missed the mark or didn't answer something you were asking, then can you provide more details on what you're trying to do and where the issue comes up? Thanks!

Hi,
Sorry for the confusion, we are trying to connect each target list to their own MailChimp list each so nothing untoward there. It does look like the issue would be with the API having a limit of 100 lists. Looking at the drop down in the Target List Module, there is no asterisk against the lists we are trying to link, so they have not been synced and so are not missing due to that. I will suggest that the process of linking SugarCRM and MailChimp lists is changed to use the less restrictive method via the Target Lists module in future to avoid this issue. I will also pass on your comments regarding how to improve our user of MailChimp lists. Please mark this issue as resolved. Many thanks.

Thanks for letting us know, Shaun. We are constantly looking at ways to improve the onboarding and syncing process so we will take that into consideration for sure. I'll close this case for now, let us know if you have any more questions moving forward!

Hi,
I have used the Target List method of linking a MailChimp and Target List as suggested. Although it moves to a status of synced within Sugar, when we added a new contact to this list in SugarCRM MailChimp was not updated. We have had 2 'successful' sync processes within SugarCRM scheduler since the change was made and the new email address still does not show. Could this be related to the 100 list limit in any way ? Many thanks.
