#1863 - Unable to push new contact from SugarCRM into Mailchimp

Closed General Question created by Comevo 8 years ago

Hello, New to SugarChimp, attempting to troubleshoot some issues for our office. We are able to successfully see contacts pushed from MailChimp into SugarCRM, but when a contact is added into SugarCRM, it is not pushed into MailChimp. It seems all settings are correct, is there something I'm missing? Juan juan.macias@comevo.com

    Hey there Juan,

In order for you to see your new Contacts from Sugar, you will need to get their onto a synced Target List. Being on CE 6.5, you will have to manually add them to the Target List by going to the target list's subpanel for Contacts and selecting the dropdown arrow > Select. On this window, click 'Search' with no filters, then the 'check all' box, and click Select. This will always add any new Contacts onto your list. We recommend doing it nightly, or weekly based on your needs.

We are on the brink of our largest release to date, that will include a feature to 'add all Contacts' to your List, which will automatically do this process for you. Until that release, I believe this will be the most painless way for you to include all of your Contacts. Can I help you with anything else? Try that process out and let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for your prompt response. If I am understanding correctly, I will need to create a List in SugarCRM, then add all new contacts manually to that list in order for that list to be synced to MailChimp? Meaning, each time a new contact is added into Sugar, we will have to manually add them to that new list?

    Hey Juan,

You are correct above in regards to the need to consistently add new Contacts to your list. However, our next release includes a feature to automatically add all Contacts, Targets, or Leads to a list for you. We do not have a set date for this release just yet, but we should be beta testing very soon!

In the meantime, is there anything else I can help you with?

Reopening: If I add all contacts to my target list that is set to sync with mailchimp, will it automatically recognize duplicates that are already in our mailchimp database? Or will it push all contacts over, regardless if they already exist? I just don't want to have to deal with a mess of duplicates or select contacts one-by-one...

    Hey,

Thanks for asking! It will not duplicate Contacts inside of MailChimp. The only issue you might run into if having more than one Contact with the same email address from Sugar being added to the List. Then, when synced to MailChimp, only 1 of the Contacts 'info' will be shown for that email address. Does that make sense?
