#1961 - Sync a sugarcrm list with MailChimp
Hi,
I have just downloaded SugarChimp and installed it in our on-site SugarCRM Ent 7.6.1 instance. The schedule is failing to update a mailChimp list from a sugarcrm target list. The error entry in SugarCRM log file is:
SugarChimp Version: 7.5.9k
Error: A SugarChimp webhook could not be added to a Mailchimp List 93e9a98506 Remaining data: Array ( [93e9a98506] => Array ( [status] => error [code] => [name] => Exception [error] => We couldn't connect to the specified the URL. Please double check and try again. )
)
An the error entry in the php.ini file is:
[22-Feb-2016 12:02:49 GMT] PHP Warning: curl_close(): 536 is not a valid cURL handle resource in /var/www/html/Spyglass/modules/SugarChimp/includes/vendor/Mailchimp/Mailchimp.php on line 302
Could you help to fix the issue with the schedule sync?

Hey,
Thanks for reaching out, I'm happy to help! I will need some more information to try and troubleshoot the issues. The error in the sugar logs usually occurs if MailChimp is unable to reach your network for any amount of time. Can you go to Sugar > Admin > SugarChimp Health Status and take a screenshot of everything on that page? Towards the bottom you will see a SugarChimp Logger Level. If it is not already, please change it to “Debug”.
Could you also send me your Sugar log? To get the Sugar log, go to Sugar > Admin > System Settings and click "View Log" at the bottom. Then click "All" to get all of the log file data. Copy everything that is on that page, then put it into a text file. That will help me get a little more information. Then email the screenshot and text file to support@sugarchimp.com and I’ll figure out what’s going on. Let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks,
Jon

Thanks Jon.
Our Sugacrm instance is not accessible outside the internal network, therefore MailChimp will not be able to reach the SugarCRM instance but the SugarCRM will be able to reach MailChimp. Since all we want is to sync sugarCRM target lists with MailChimp list (one way only), would this configuratuon work?

Hey Esther,
If you are only wanting to setup a one way sync, we can certainly do this for you. You will lose some important functionality if you turn it off, such as: - Unsubscribes, opt-outs, and bounces in MailChimp will no longer update in Sugar. So you must clean these lists yourself. - New subscribers in MailChimp will no longer be created in Sugar - Changes to profiles in MailChimp will not be reflected in Sugar
If you are ok with all of that, then you can disable the MailChimp to Sugar sync by disabling the add_webhook job. Run this sql command against your database to disable the job:
UPDATE config SET value=0 WHERE category='sugarchimp' AND name='job_addwebhook_enabled’;
Let me know if you have any questions on that! Thanks.

Hey,
I wanted to follow up by letting you know that we also have a proxy script handy that many customers in your situation use. If you make only the proxy script accessible from outside your network, SugarChimp can retain full functionality without opening up your Sugar instance anywhere else. It is as secure a way to retain full functionality with the integration. More details on that can be found here: Setting up a proxy
Let me know if you need more information about that, or have any further questions.

Thanks. We do not support php proxy in our current configuration but we can try to create a custom one for this communication.

That sounds good. Let me know if you have any questions on how to set it up. Otherwise, let me know when your proxy is up and working!

Hey,
I just wanted to reach out and see if you were able to setup your proxy to let MailChimp communicate with your Sugar instance? If not, let me know if there is anything I can help with during the process!

Hey, I'm going to shut this case down for now. If anything further comes up, you can always start a new thread or reply to this one! Thanks.
