#2031 - SugarChimp

Closed Installation created by tmjackson 8 years ago

Hi there,

We are in the process of setting up our SugarChimp account and are starting to sync our Sugar lists to MailChimp. On Step 4, we've noticed there is only a certain number of lists showing up in the Sugar list dropdown at a time. The lists we needed to sync were not included in the dropdown initially so we ran a clean-up process to remove any lists we did not foresee using in MailChimp.

Please confirm the logic used in this process so we know how/which Sugar Target Lists show up in the Select a Sugar Target List dropdown. We are able to access our lists in the interim but will need to know the logic moving forward.

Thanks, Tara

    Hey Tara,

Thanks for reaching out. Our current setup displays the Target Lists in alphabetical order, with numbers showing before A-Z. I believe we show the first 100 Target Lists. Will that be enough to get you guys going? Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks,

    Jon

    Hey John,

This should be fine for now. If it does become a problem for us, are we able to increase the number of Target Lists that appear in the dropdown? Or is there a way we can limit the Target Lists that show up based on a setting in Sugar? If it is a possibility, the second option may be better.

I've been testing the unsubscribe function between Sugar>SugarChimp>MailChimp and would like some clarification on the logic used. I unsubscribed a contact from the Sugar Target List "SugarChimp Test List" which is synced with "Tara's Test" in MailChimp. This contact is no longer showing up as subscribed on the MailChimp list but they are also not listed as unsubscribed in MailChimp. This has raised a few questions...

Do contacts only show up as unsubscribed in MailChimp when the unsubscribe takes place via unsubscribe link in an email? If a contact unsubscribes via email, are they then added to the unsubscribe list for that particular list in Sugar?

Due to CASL legislation, I want to be very clear on how the unsubscribes work.

    Thanks, Tara

I just checked with my manager and the unsubscribed contact is showing up for him but not for me. I'm not sure how to send the screenshot through to you.

    Hey Tara,

That is a great question. You should definitely be able to see those who are unsubscribed from SugarChimp on the 'unsubscribed list' in MailChimp. I am not sure if there is a user setting for MailChimp that disables that?

As far as SugarChimp goes, anytime someone is removed from a Target List, opted out, or deleted in Sugar, they will be unsubscribed in MailChimp. We do not delete any records, within SugarCRM or MailChimp. Let me know if you have further questions regarding procedure for opt-outs, unsubscribes, and bounces.

    Thanks,

    Jon

  • "SugarChimp is exactly what we needed, it syncs nicely between MailChimp and Sugar. The added MailChimp dashlet is very sophisticated. Works great – thank you!"
