#2147 - Automated sync not working
Hi there, We are having an issue where SugarChimp is not automatically pulling in contacts from a synced list in Mailchimp. Manual resyncs do work however. One thing we have noticed that may be the cause is that:
1) We sign up an email address (email address A) via the Mailchimp API on our website 2) We sign up a different email address (email address B) directly in Mailchimp
Now when the automated sync runs, email address A is NOT synced but email address B IS synced.
In Mailchimp, we have noticed that the subscriber for email address A is marked as ** Signup source = API - Generic** In Mailchimp, we have noticed that the subscriber for email address B is marked as ** Signup source = Admin Add**
So it appears that any contacts added to Mailchimp via the API do not get picked up and syned automatically by SugarChimp.
Thanks Shannon

Hi Shannon, thanks for taking the time to describe your setup. This does sound consistent with how we set the list up by default in MailChimp, however you can change it.
If you go to MailChimp, go to your List, click the Settings Tab, then click "Webhooks". Click the Edit button next to the webhook that is pointing to your Sugar server, then check the "via the API" checkbox and click Save.
Webhooks are what notify Sugar when changes happen in MailChimp. By default we do not enable changes made by the API, but after you enable that you should see email addresses added from your website in your first scenario show up in Sugar. Be sure to use real email addresses and not test emails addresses (test@test.com may not be accepted by MailChimp).
After doing this, give it a try and let us know if it works. Thanks!

Thanks for your help. We have made that change but we are still not seeing them get to Sugar. In the Mailchimp API log, I can the email address get added to Mailchimp, them 1-5 min later Sugarchimp connect to each list looking for changes but receiving a (508) Invalid_URL response from the api. Which I believe from looking at previous posts means no changes?
Thanks Shannon

Hello Shannon,
Those changes in MailChimp will fire the webhook immediately. The SugarChimp scheduler doesn't have to do anything in those cases. If you navigate to the page that the webhook is set to go to, what do you see?
Thanks!

Hi there, We get the message: SugarChimp Webhook Receiver is setup properly!
This url can be browsed in an incognito window as well as an FYI, so it isn't locked down. Thanks

Hello Shannon,
I've been working to replicate your issue. I will send you an email right now with instructions on how we can troubleshoot further.
Thanks.

Hello,
I'm going to go ahead and close this case out for now. The issue was with the webform connecting to MailChimp. It was using their new v3 api which was not implemented to send webhooks at this time. Feel free to let us know if you run into any more trouble. Thanks!
