#2214 - Field Mapping from custom module that is related to contact
Hi, we are using suitecrm with sugarchimp. I was wondering if its possible to map a specific field from a custom module (that has a many-to-one relation with contacts) with mailchimp. I don't see this functionality in our current package and was wondering if Ultimate has this? (I noticed 'advanced field mapping' so that might be it?)

Hello,
Good question. SugarChimp cannot currently map any fields from Custom modules to MailChimp. It is possible in the future, but has not been implemented. Your best solution will be to create a custom field on the Contact module that is mapped to the related custom module's field. This implementation will vary based on which edition of Sugar you are in. In Sugar Community Edition, you will need to use a third party workflow tool such as Process Manager from SugarOutfitters, or write custom code to accomplish this task.
Let me know if you have any more questions about that in particular.
Thanks.

You're welcome. I'm going to go ahead and close this case out for now, but don't hesitate to ask another question. Let us know how it goes!
Thanks.

Hello, Is it possible, currently? We have a very critical SugarCRM use case and we'd need to reach fields of a custom module from MailChimp. We'd need to design the specific emails from MailChimp using those fields. That custom module (Bookings) is related to Accounts but that relationship is 0-N (any account could have 0 or many Bookings). So we can't create custom fields on Accounts to loading that fields.
Please could you tell me please, if there is any solution using SugarChimp? or any workaround? Thank you very much

I know we chatted about this through email, but it looks like this case is still open. Closing it out now, but including the reply just in case others come across this case:
Normally in the case of related custom modules, we'd recommend using a calculated field or perhaps using SugarBPM. I checked in with our developer to see if he had any thoughts and it sounds like the best solution would be to do your own customization to add a field using logic hooks.
