#2985 - Multi Select lists in SugarChimp

Closed Installation created by ghm101 7 years ago

Hi Guys

I am trying to get some multi select lists to sync from Sugar to Mailchimp for our mutual client - Dodd & Co. I think I have followed the instructions here https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/docs/SugarChimp/mailchimp-groups-dropdowns-radio-buttons that specify ensuring the list values are identical on both sides of the solution, but I am still having an issue.

Some advice woudl be appreciated.

Regards Greg Makey

    Hello Greg,

I'm happy to help you out. This is the most in-depth piece of the integration, so we get questions on it often. Have you setup the field mapping along with ensuring the values are correct? This is one of those issues that is probably quickest for us to get on a call and look at together as it could be a number of different reasons. One of the first things to check would be to see if you can find any errors in the batches that we send to MailChimp. We have a hidden page that shows these batches. To check those, go to the health status page, and edit the url from '/health-status' to '/adminbatches'.

That should show the batches, where you can click the 'show' button on them to get the details for each one. If you find any with errors then you can download that batch and email it to support@sugarchimp.com for us to find the error.

If you are unable to do all of that or get stuck somewhere, we can do it together on a call. Schedule a call here: https://calendly.com/fanaticallabs/sugarchimp-support

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks, Jon

Hi Jon, sorry to have gone quiet on this , life happened, But the problem is still outstanding, We may still need to work together to resolve this, but I did just check and found a dropdown list in Sugar with Different values to those mapped in sugar.

So I have aligned the list values and have re run the sync again. Issues showed up in the log file and I have emailed them separately to you. (support@sugarchimp.com)

We also need to understand how the do not call\ unsubscribe mapping can work.

As I may have mentioned we are in the UK so something at the start of your (US) day suites us best, if you are available today, great, otherwise can we book something for tomorrow.

    Regards Greg

I will take a look at your logs to see if we can pull anything from them. However, let's go ahead and set something up for tomorrow. You can schedule a meeting from this link: https://calendly.com/fanaticallabs/sugarchimp-support

I will let you know if I find anything worthwhile in the logs.

    Hello Greg,

Those logs and screenshots are perfect, I can tell what is going on. Because in Sugar those fields are multi-select fields. You'll need to create Groups in MailChimp to represent the Sugar field. The Group will work just like a field, except MailChimp handles it different (because you can have more than one option). Here should be a quick guide to getting it working:

    • Setup your Groups in MailChimp, they work like fields but are in a different spot
    • Delete those fields from MailChimp
    • Go back to the Field Mapping page and choose your new 'Group' to map the Sugar field to
    • Save, and queue a Sugar to MailChimp resync to push that Multiselect field across.

If you need more information, I've emailed you some extra details and references. Let me know if you have any more issues. If you are able to get it working, let me know here and I'll cancel the appointment for tomorrow and close the case out.

    Thanks! Jon

  • "We do a lot of highly-segmented outbound marketing and SugarChimp is exactly what we needed. The list and field syncing are great, and it allows us to do more sophisticated campaigns that exactly target certain Lead profiles in Sugar. The SugarChimp team is also really great, and they are totally committed to our success."
