#3387 - SugarChimp Dashlets
Hi there,
We have a client who has just implemented SugarChimp.
We notice that the Mailchimp Campaign Summary Dashlet (available on Sugar's Home dashboard) displays all activity, and may not be suitable for those organisations that wish to keep that information within their relevant teams
Have you come across any method to restrict the information or access to this particular dashlet?
Many thanks,

Hello David,
Thanks for reaching out. We do not have a method of restricting access to that dashlet. However, it will not appear on User's home pages, unless they manually edit and add the new dashlet.
Additionally, the latest Sugar 7.10 release includes a dashboard deployer which might be helpful in automatically setting up each Teams' dashboards, without them manually doing so.
Is there anything else I can help with at this time?
Thanks, Jon

Having said that, if this is something the client absolutely needs, we can looks at customizing SugarChimp to add this feature for a one-off fee. Let us know if this is something they would be interested in.
Thanks again!

Hello David,
Are you interested in exploring a customization to keep that dashlet limited to certain teams or roles within Sugar? If not, is there anything else I can help with in regards to this issue?
Cheers! Jon

Hi Jon,
Thanks for your response, my apologies I haven't been able to get back to you so far
We remain a little concerned that regular users, especially those with heavy restrictions and perhaps not even a part of the marketing team, can access the MailChimp's Campaign Summary which hopefully you can see an issue with!
I don't believe we'd be looking to customise the connector (at this stage, anyway) , but thank you for your response!
Best,
David

Hello David,
I understand where you're coming from. Could you possibly explain how you would choose to limit access to these dashlets? Would it be team-based?
We currently do not have this feature requested enough to warrant development, but if that changes down the road, I would certainly appreciate your input.
Best Regards, Jon

Hello David,
I'm going to close this case out for now, but if you have any additional feedback on how this feature could work, that would be helpful for us when we can implement some form of restrictions on our dashlets.
Best Regards, Jon
