#3534 - Mailchimp does not receive new Sugar Contacts into 'Subscribers' - but into a seperate 'Reconfirm' list

Closed Bug? created by DJuserDJ 6 years ago

Contacts added to our sugar since about November 16th, are received at mailchimp, but Instead of them being shown in MC within the 'subscribers' segment of the List: MailChimp is keeping them outside the list altogether. Mailchimp page says: - "Due to recent compliance issues, 291 email addresses have been removed and can be reconfirmed. Learn more. "

It seems like 100% of new contacts we added to Sugar since November are being held by MC this way.

Our list on MC in total is about 5,000 contacts - and we add to it; as new clients get added to Sugar.

MC's page has a button to 'Create a Reconfirmation campaign' - but we'd prefer not to pester folks with that.

    Hello there,

I understand where you're coming from. However, I am not going to be able to help you get around the compliance issues in MailChimp. Their 'Omnivore' system for compliance is outside of SugarChimp's control, and is not affected by the integration in any way. Rather records are imported via csv or through an api integration, MailChimp's compliance checks will be the same. I believe MailChimp will force you to send the reconfirmation campaign that will allow those records from SugarCRM to 'opt-in' to the list. Anyone who does not manually opt-in, will not be added to the list. Once that is taken care of, MailChimp should stop blocking new records, as your account should be in good standing.

There is nothing that I can do to help with this process, but if you have more questions on their compliance system, you can find more information on it from MalChimp's Knowledge Base: About Compliance for Email Marketing: http://eepurl.com/cTMOFb About Omnivore: http://eepurl.com/b2Q7Pn

If you cannot find the answer you need from the link, you can create a support case with them by logging into your MailChimp account. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

    Thanks! Jon

    Thanks -much appreciated DJ

PS - sorry I didn't reply earlier -for some reason I didn;t get an email for your earlier comments: only today, when you closed the case. Is your email working OK -it would help to get an email per response?

You should definitely be getting alerted from each response. I'll test this internally and make sure it's doing what it's supposed to do. Thanks for letting us know!

    Thanks! Jon
