#3544 - Report modifications get overwritten
Hi,
The installation of the SugarChimp Package overwrites the file
./custom/modules/Reports/metadata/reportmodulesdefs.php
This overwrites report customizations made by another package.
How can this be avoided?

Hello Holger,
I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the installation. I will look into how we can update Reports metadata without overwriting any customizations already present. Were your customizations done at the code level? Is it an installable module?

Hello Jon, The modifications were done by another installable package. Same as your package, it writes a file custom/modules/Reports/metadata/reportmodulesdefs.php Would be great if you find an option to merge or otherwise set your report settings. Thanks, Holger

So I've looked into this issue and it seems there is no work around in Sugar to allow multiple installable packages to adjust that report metadata. I know how we can fix you up going forward, but with our package, it will still not be upgrade safe. I wish I had a better answer for you here, but unfortunately this is just an area where Sugar is limited.
