#3561 - Syncing Target Lists from Sugar with Master Lists in Mailchimp

Closed Feature created by Monique Bianchi Ribeiro 6 years ago

Hello, I have a question regarding target lists integrated through Sugar CRM.

I have created in Sugar many Target Lists with specific leads in order to send them specific Campaigns.

I want to send these campaigns via Mailchimp because of the template and also to have the stats such as Open rate, click rate.

My problem is to understand how to synchronize a specific **Target list ** with our Master List on MailChimp. My question is, the leads inside this target list in Sugar are all probably already subscribers in our Master List in Mailchimp. So, I guess that the contacts won't be duplicated as they exist there already as subscribers. However, if I sync this target list from Sugar with our Master List in Mailchimp, how I'm going to be able to find these specific contacts from the target list in Sugar to send a specific campaign? I mean, I could probably create a new segment inside this list, for every target list I sync with the Master List and then I would be able to send different Campaigns. But how to do that? Via field mapping`?

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hello Monique,

You have many options for how to achieve your segmentation in MailChimp. The SugarChimp sync is a 1:1 relationship between a Target List in Sugar and a MailChimp List. The idea of syncing a new List for each Campaign you want to send out is possible, but is rather daunting. Ideally, you can save yourself trouble by just syncing the Master List across and doing all segmentation there in MailChimp.

In order to do this, you need to use the Field Mapping tool to get data across to MailChimp. Then, in MailChimp, you can create and save segments that you would like to send to.

Since you have the Master List done, you just need to add the fields syncing. The step by step guide on how to do that is here: Sync Sugar Fields to MailChimp

Let me know how it goes!

    Thanks, Jon

Hi Jon, thanks for the imput. But now I'm struggling with the sync between the Target List and my Master List in Mailchimp. Every time I select the Master List under the field Mailchimp List in the Target List, and save it, it cannot be accepted. If I try any other list, it can be saved, but not with the Master List. What do you think could be causing this issue?

      Thanks

Hi again Jon, it seems that the Target List I was trying to sync appears as pending looking in the health status. But, should I do anything or just wait for these leads to sync? And actually, these leads should be there in Mailchimp already, since we have the connection from Sugar to Mailchimp... But I guess, the Target lists and campaigns are useful also for ROI calculation, am I right?

    Hello Monique,

I recently responded to the other support issue that we have had open. However, I wanted to check and see how this issue is standing currently. Is there anything I can help you with in regards to the syncing between these two lists? Is everything working as expected in this area?

    Thanks, Jon
