#3642 - Changes made to lead in Sugar did not transfer to MailChimp

Closed Bug? created by David E Kromann 6 years ago

We have a large list in Sugar connected to a large list in MailChimp .

We have discovered that some changes made to a lead on 11-10-2017 and 06-11-2017 (email address, name) has not been syncronized in mailchimp and thus the wrong person has now received our emails

This leads to great concern if this is not the only incident.

How can we check what has happened?

Best regards

Lone

    Hello Lone,

It will be difficult to see what has happened to this record at that length of time, but we can certainly test the process in general together to see if we can replicate any issues. It's hard to say what could've happened with that sync, but we can definitely get on a call to give you a peace of mind that it should not be happening again.

Can you schedule a time for us to do that together here: https://calendly.com/fanaticallabs/sugarchimp-support

It will be helpful to go ahead and have a test record created in SugarCRM on a Target List that is synced to MailChimp. From there, we can edit his data and turn the logging up to watch the process of updating a record from Sugar to MailChimp and ensure that it updates correctly.

Let me know if you are not able to schedule a call that works.

    Kind Regards, Jon

    Hello Lone,

I enjoyed working with you this morning. We looked over the record in question that did not update correctly in MailChimp. It seems that the integration created a new record in MailChimp whenever the email address was changed in SugarCRM. This left the old record in MailChimp with no connected email address, so it did not get unsubscribed. This is a known bug in SugarChimp 7.8 that has since been addressed, so that you should not see this happen again.

We installed the latest version and you are going to do some testing in the next couple days to let me know that the email address updates are working in MailChimp correctly. I will wait for your feedback before closing out this case.

    Best Regards, Jon

    Hello again,

Thank you for your patience as we figured out the bug in our update email logic in MailChimp. The bug only occurred when an email address was updated on a Sugar record to an email address that was already taken in MailChimp. When we attempt to update the email address in MailChimp, it of course fails causing the update to fail. This bug is now fixed in the latest version, 7.11.1i.

I'm going to close this case out for now. If you have any other questions or concerns as you use SugarChimp, don't hesitate to reach back out.

    Kind Regards, Jon
