#3823 - Mass data overwrite with Sugar
Last week I spoke to a member of your team to set up and allow Account data mapping from Sugar to MailChimp. I got around to mapping this data over and it seems to have caused a massive issue within Sugar. It looks as though data has been overridden on a huge number of accounts. Please can we get urgent support with this.

Hello Adam,
I'm sorry to hear about your issue with a mass overwriting of data in Sugar from MailChimp. Can you explain what data at the Account level was overwritten? Whenever you set up the field mapping for the very first time, did you choose to resync the data from MailChimp to SugarCRM? That would have caused the integration to overwrite Sugar data with whatever it finds in MailChimp for those matching records.
Let me know what you think about these pieces.

Hi Jon
Thanks for coming back to me. From what I can see, it looks as if Account names have been overwritten in Sugar. I chose to re-sync from SugarCRM to MailChimp.

Hello Adam,
Since its the Account name that was overwritten, we might be able to resolve the issue via the Audit logs. How many records were affected by the overwrite? When you go to one of your Accounts that was broken, can you go to their History and see the names in the Audit log?
I have an opening tomorrow morning (my time) so I'm going to book a call for us in that slot. If you can see the old Account names, then we can probably get a fix for you with a query.
Let me know what you find and I will see if we can make any progress on a fix prior to a call.
Thanks, Jon

Hi Jon
Thanks for your response.
I'm not completely sure how many records have been affected I'm afraid. We have around 35,000 Accounts and the majority look to have been updated. I have looked in the Audit logs and it looks like a huge amount of different fields have been changed, more than once.
A call would be great. Thank you.
I look forward to speaking with you soon. Adam

Hello Adam,
Great to hear. The new installation will update the functionality so that duplicate data will not overwrite in Sugar. No new queries are needed to be run. Let me know how the installation goes, and feel free to test the MailChimp to Sugar updates afterwards.
Kind Regards, Jon

Hello Adam,
I can indeed extend the trial out to give you time to test everything thoroughly before being charged. I have extended the trial out to Sept. 7th, two more weeks. Let me know if I can help answer any more questions as you get acquainted with the integration.
I'll go ahead and close this case out now.
Kind Regards, Jon
