#3892 - Workflow capabilities
Hello, Our customer is looking to add workflow functionality:
- When an individual is marked as a member, email drip campaign starts. Either via Mailchimp or via the Sugar Email (side note: can advanced workflows trigger a Mailchimp email?)
- When someone checks or unchecks to receive a newsletter in Mailchimp- that info updates in Sugar under Additional Newsletters
Is this possible with the pro or ent version? Also, can can we confirm which edition the customer is currently using?
Thank you.

Hello there,
The license paid through this account is on the Professional level. We can discuss the answers below in terms of the Professional level vs. the Ultimate level.
Q: When an individual is marked as a member, email drip campaign starts. Either via Mailchimp or via the Sugar Email:
A: All we need to do is sync the 'member' field over to MailChimp and have automations for when that field value is updated. The only 'catch' is that checkboxes will sync to MailChimp as 0/1 so it will be a little bit ugly in that regard.
This can be done on the Professional level assuming that the individual is already on the Target List and subscribed in MailChimp. If these records may not be on the Target List, then you might need the Ultimate level of integration to ensure that appropriate records are on the Target List at all times.
Q: (side note: can advanced workflows trigger a Mailchimp email?)
A: Yes, but not directly. Advanced workflows can trigger a field update in Sugar, which updates a field in MailChimp, which then trigger an automated email from MailChimp.
Q: When someone checks or unchecks to receive a newsletter in Mailchimp- that info updates in Sugar under Additional Newsletters.
A: Assuming that you are using Groups here, we can tie the newsletters Group in MailChimp to a mutli-select field in Sugar (named Additional Newsletters) which will become a two-way sync for these check boxes. This works well in both Professional and Ultimate.
It sounds like they should be able to accomplish most of their needs by staying on the current package. If you/them have any other questions I can help with, don't hesitate to reach out.
Kind Regards, Jon
