#3994 - Unsubscribed contacts in MailChimp are still appearing on Sugar TargetList
Hello,
We installed SugarChimp and configured globaloptout option to 2 (no opt-out but remove the contact from Sugar TargetList).
We did a test list which is syncing properly to MailChimp, but when a contact unsubscribes it remains in the SugarTargetList. Moreover, we can't see any activities in the "MailChinp Activity" subpannel of the contacts, but we see it through the MailChinp Activity dashlet.
I have to precise that Sugar is not opened onthe Internet but is behind a VPN.
Thank you,
Sylvain

Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Being behind VPN can affect the incoming webhooks from Mailchimp such that Mailchimp updates aren't able to make it back to Sugar. You can see potential solutions we recommend here: https://fanaticallabs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004573992-Privacy-Network-Security
You can also investigate the settings required for SugarChimp to work as desired here: https://fanaticallabs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016251832-Common-Installation-Issues
Can you tell me if the integration had ever previously sent data from Mailchimp to Sugar or is this issue a new one?
Thanks, Heidi

Hi Heidi,
It is a new integration, it never sent data to Sugar. How would I set up a proxy script? The link https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/docs/SugarChimp/setting-up-a-proxy is dead...
Thanks,
Sylvain

Hi Heidi,
Thank you for the link (you should review your article, the links are not rendering as links). I'm afraid my customer doesn't want to open the CRM to the proxy script.
Is there a solution where Sugar calls MailChimp to update the content of the synced TargetList? It would not be realtime synced but at least you finally get the information, even if Sugar is behind a VPN...

Sylvain

Hi Sylvain,
Thanks for the heads up on our links. The only other alternative to turning off Mailchimp to Sugar sync would be to whitelist Mailchimp's IP addresses. This isn't ideal, of course, because Mailchimp changes their IP address but would allow for Mailchimp to sync to Sugar. If you opt for this route, you could reach out to Mailchimp directly to obtain the IPs they use: https://mailchimp.com/help/
Please let me know if you have further questions!
Best, Heidi
