#4514 - Mapping "Email Marketing Status" field between Sugar CRM and Mailchimp

Closed General Question created by pratik.kapoor 3 years ago

Hi, I wanted to know if there is a way I can map "Email Marketing Status" default field (under Subscriber Data) to a custom field in Sugar CRM? I tried to look into the available Mailchimp fields in Sugar CRM but this one is not one of them. Is there a way I can map this default field to my custom field in Sugar CRM? With Merge Tag, it creates a new field altogether, so that would not solve the purpose.

    Hi Pratik,

Happy to help. The Email Marketing Status field isn't available to sync to Sugar as a custom field. Instead, we use the built-in Sugar email flags. Unsubscribed records are sent to Sugar as Opt Out and cleaned emails are sent to Sugar as Invalid, as shown here: https://d.pr/i/TVih0H.

Can you tell me if there is data from the Email Marketing Status you are needing that isn't suited by the above solution?

    Thanks for your insight.

    Best, Heidi

Hi Heidi, Sorry for not responding earlier. Somehow missed the previous update. We wanted to map the Email Marketing field form Mailchimp to a custom field so that it is more apparent to the end users. However, since it is not available for mapping, probably we will stick to the built-in flags for this purpose.

    Thanks for looking into this.
