#4558 - Improvement Request: Enable Viewing of Contact as a field on the Sugar Chimp Record to allow linkage
EIS would like to propose the following feature:
Having the contact as a field on the record similar to how an account is a field on the opportunity record.

Thanks for reaching out. I'd love to get a little clarity and insight into this request. To confirm, are they looking for the contact name to be displayed within the Mailchimp Activities subpanel?
Can you tell me more about why this feature would be helpful and how they would use the feature in their workflow?
Thanks, Heidi

Hello! From our CRM Manager: The ask is that contacts be a field that can be added to the body of the record as a field. It is something that Sugar can do, it is done quite a bit.
There are a couple of things; it would make reporting easier, it would make filtering easier, it would make list views easier. If you are looking at the campaign you can more easily see which contacts were sent the emails and their interaction with it. Right now, all sugar chimp looks like is a list of email addresses. It would make a lot more sense that it was a list of contacts instead.
Thank you! -Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,
Thanks for sending this along. I chatted with our developer about this request and to get further insight. It sounds like this is a feature request we aren't able to put into place. Because multiple contacts could share the same email address, and we relate the campaign to all records with that email address, the integration doesn't have a way to determine which contact should be displayed. (It's not a 1 to 1 relationship that enables this change to be made.)
Thanks again for sharing your insights. If you come across other features you'd like to see, I hope you continue to let us know!
Best, Heidi
