#988 - Syncing from MailChimp to SugarCRM

Closed General Question created by Actuate IT 9 years ago

Hi,

I've read this section - https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/docs/SugarChimp/add-new-list#addmailchimplisttosugar - and I have a list in MailChimp that I want to be sync'd into Sugar. I've followed all steps correctly but even after step 5 is done, I'm not seeing what List in Sugar my MailChimp Data has gone to. Is the sync process meant to create a new Target List in Sugar and put the contacts (my module is Contacts) into the new list - or is it making some List assumptions and putting the contacts into a list that's already in Sugar somehow??

Thanks.

Hi there, if you're wanting to import Contacts from MailChimp into Sugar, you'll want to follow the second set of steps in the "Add a New MailChimp List to SugarCRM" section. It sounds like you're probably doing that.

After you follow those steps, you will need to wait 10-15 minutes until the SugarChimp scheduler has had some time to process. SugarChimp will create a Target List in Sugar with the same name as the MailChimp list. If you go to Target Lists in Sugar you should see a Target List named the same as your MailChimp list at this point. As the scheduler runs you'll see the Contacts from your MailChimp list be added to the Sugar Target List.

Are you seeing the new Target List in Sugar? Have any contacts been added to it?

If you go to Admin, scroll to the SugarChimp section and go to "Health Status" towards the bottom you should see "Pending from MailChimp". Are those numbers all zero? If not, wait another 10-15 minutes and see if the numbers are going down. If they are, you'll need to wait until it gets to zero and that's when you know the list has synced completely.

How many subscribers are in the MailChimp list you are importing?

    Thanks!

Thanks. I was definitely following those steps. No new list created (a day later) and no new contacts coming in either. The list has 3811 subscribers. Vast majority are already existing SugarCRM contacts, but a noticeable number are new subscribers who subscribed to MC using a mailchimp form on the company's website.

P.S. the 'Pending fRom Mailchimp numbers for lists ad subscribers have remained as 0 throughout.

Hmm, thanks for the info. We may need to get on a screenshare so I can see exactly what's going on.

Is your Scheduler for the Sugar instance running?
