DocParser creates PDF or MS Word documents based on any record and it's related data. DocParser can be used to merge information from any module into a presentation-quality document and create an MS Word and PDF documents. The parsed document can be downloaded from both the List view and Detail view.
We have solved it and upload the latest package(DocParser1.7-OnPremise & DocParser1.7-OnCloud) on SugarOutfitters. Please download the latest version and install it. Let us know if you will have any questions.
Hi,
Thanks for being very responsive.
Out of curiosity, what is the difference between the 2 versions?
I thought if you have a Cloud compatible version, then it would work fine everywhere anyway?
The OnPremise version of DocParser uses the MPDF library to generate the PDF which provides more flexibility to formatting the document. Also, MPDF library uses many functions that SugarCloud doesn't allow to install on their server. The Cloud version of DocParser uses the in-built TCPDF library to generate the PDF as there are some restrictions so we have to stick with it. So if anyone has its SugarCRM on their own server then they can use the OnPremise version of DocParser.
Hope this helps you to identify the difference between 2 versions.
Hi,
We have customers on both Cloud and OnPremise, so asking to see if we could use just one version for everyone.
are you able to give practical examples of the additional formatting flexibility please?
There are many differences between MPDF & TCPDF regarding the formatting. The following are the points on which I have experienced while generating PDF.
TCPDF is not allowed to rendering the CSS.
TCPDF not rendering the table border color.
I have attached screenshots for your reference. In the MPDF the background color is applied through the external CSS rendering and table border color(For Opportunities) is applied through the inbuilt style tag. TCPDF doesn't allow both points mentioned above.
