#220 - Contacts not synced

Closed Bug? created by francois.eric 11 years ago

Hello,

I have synced my Google Apps account and the contacts are not correctly synced. I'm not sure where the Gmail Sync gathers its contacts but they don't seem to be the correct ones.

For example, 10 contacts were created when synced. When I open my google apps gmail, click on contacts and enter in the search any of these names, none of them appear.

I'm confused.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, Either Contacts created in Sugar through Gmail Contacts or through Gmail Calander invitees looks like those created during calander sync what happened in Gmail Sync is that when a Calander event synced in Sugar and if there are invitees attached to those event then we first check wether this invitee exist in User, Leads or Contacts if exist then relate that event with particular record if not exist then create a contact and relate it with that in order keep record of invitees This seems these contacts were created through calendar sync as invitees

    Thank you DataSync Support

Hello. That seems indeed possible. But it doesn't explain why my contacts from gmail were not synced then. I created new contacts in gmail and I also created a new contact in SugarCRM but these were not synced in one way or the other.

What do you suppose is the problem.

    Thanks

I'm currently implementing this for a client. Since version 1.2, contacts from Google do not sync into SugarCRM unless they are part of a calendar event. I believe they made the decision for it to work this way based on user feedback.

@DataSync will there be a way to toggle this feature in the future?

Really? Wow that's actually the main feature I was looking for.

@DataSync: Please advise. I will pay gladly for this feature if it works (I am in the trial period). But if the google contacts cannot sync this tools isn't for me. I just want to know if I have took elsewhere

    Thank you

@francois.eric I'm (SugarOutfitters co-founder) working directly with DataSync on this to get it added to the product. I'll update this thread as soon as I have any updates.

Let me know when you have an answer. For now I have quit the trial as the tool is not useful for me as it is. Thank you

Hello. I just tried with the new version and still don't see any sync. Whether I create a contact in Gmail or SugarCRM, I don't see it in the other. I have looked at the settings in the Gmail Sync Module and the sync between contacts is activated.

By the way, I looked in Other Contacts in Gmail and they were not there.

    Please advise, François

Hmm that's odd. I'll need to investigate further.

    @datasync, any ideas?
