#2200 - Deleting contacts on MailChimp marks them as opted out on Sugar

Closed Bug? created by DJuserDJ 8 years ago

Last week we deleted some contacts via MailChimp that had been accidentally added to a MailChimp list and they now show up as opted out on Sugar so we can't send them email. I'm sure this shouldn't happen and has not happened previously. Please could you advise> I have discussed this with MailChimp support who say it is not their problem.

Hello, if you have a Sugar Contact on a Sugar Target List that is syncing to a MailChimp List and you unsubscribe or delete a MailChimp Subscriber, they will be marked as opted out in Sugar. That's how it has worked for a while. Maybe previous Sugar Contacts weren't on the synced Sugar Target Lists?

It works this way so that as people are unsubscribed on the MailChimp side we can update Sugar appropriately.

You should be able to go to the Sugar Contacts, click edit and uncheck the opted out flag and you will be able to email them again in Sugar. Make sure they are not on a syncing Target List or they will show back up in MailChimp when you change their Sugar opt out status.

Let us know if this works for you. Thanks!

    Hello,

Deleting contacts on MailChimp marks them as opted out on Suite CRM/.

Is there a way to mass update them to opted-in again? Or we need to go one by one?

Because we deleted them for testing to see how it works and we can`t upload them back to mailchimp?
