#3766 - Transactional mail

Closed Feature created by erbolario 6 years ago

Hello,

we need to send transactional mail from our e-commerce site to customers inserting data from Sugar Contacts and related modules: quotes, quotes lines, some custom modules related 1=1 and other 1=many with contacts, ... For example: order confrmation, customer coupons for birthdate, ... Is it possible with SugarChimp?

Otherwise ... is it possible to sync a custom field coming from a custom module?

Thanks a lot.

    Hello there,

For any custom modules/relationships or those that are not a 'parent-child' relationship, you would need to have a custom calculated field at the Contact level that represents the related value. That is the only way you will be able to get that data across to MailChimp. We have clients that do this very thing, but depending on the depth of your needs, it can be a difficult use case.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to do that.

    Thanks! Jon

    Hi Jon,

thanks a lot for your reply. Yes, we have already implemented your suggestion but it is very short term. Today we have birth date coupon, the very same day we have special sales coupon, ... and so on depending what our marketing decides. We would need to have one calculated field for every campaign or at least for similar campaigns. Also keeping track on the customer entity which one was already sent to the customers.

Instead we have created a one to many entity with Contacts called Coupons in which we can fine control all coupons, their sent, validity, usage, ... and so on.

I think it would be a great feature to have.

    Anyway, thanks again. Eros Olmi.

    Hello Eros,

Thank you for explaining your use case, as I can definitely see how creating the custom Coupons module makes sense for you. If the syncing of child-related fields becomes available, it would definitely be a feature that we would send an email blast about, to let everyone know.

I'll go ahead and close this case out for now. Let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Thanks! Jon
