#422 - Installer Stops at 17%

Closed Bug? created by sales1 10 years ago

We purchased the theme yesterday. The theme failed to install on 6.5.16 and logs as follow:

Failed to copy cache/upgrades/temp/Rq58dv/CorePackage_CE_6.5.16/include/DetailView/header.tpl to include/DetailView/header.tpl

Best Regards, Tony

Hi Christian, this request came through via email. I converted to a case here.

we had a similar situation before. Please make sure the file authorizations are set properly so the sugar installer can write to the sugarcrm directory. That was the same issue another customer had.

    Hi Christian,

I've just purchased this theme v2.7.2 and have the same issue, this results in the module install not completing and remains in the install panel of the module loader and does not move to the installed panel. Even when on a Sugar 6.5.16 CE Dev server with directories and files all set to 777.

Perhaps the install process where sugar first sets this permissions on the uploaded files is causing issues for a later install process that copies those uploaded files? Is this the workflow of the install process? I have the same issue with the KReports install when again doesn't complete (I've emailed you separately re this).

Can you post the correct permissions settings for the Sugar .php files that write the permissions on file uploads or add this to the install document? A working example of setting on your working servers would be of great help :-)

    Thanks, Craig

Craig ... given that also the other installer seem to have issues on your system (the email you sent me) it seems to be really an issue with your instance. Unfortunately the Sugar Installer is neihter a higly sophisticated tool nor is it a very reliable tool. I had some customers where files had been cropped. The installer is not doing any magic and it is also easy to manually copy the files. If you set all permissions to 777 ther cannot be any real problem. What typically is also a reliable source is the php error log.
