#4341 - Multi-User: CRM-Module stops installation at 5%. Simply hangs.
Installation of the server component in the module manager fails. Progress bar stops at 5%, doing nothing anymore.
Environment: SuiteCRM 7.11.13 on Linux, PHP 5.2.6
Any idea?
Thany you in advance.
Kind regards

Hi Ingo,
Most likely directory permissions do not allow PHP to write files it needs to write to install the module.

Hi Max,
thank you for your quick reply. I managed to analyze the install php code. But to make things easier: Could you please tell me what the installer does after the progress bar switched to 5 %? This will help me to find the installation part that is failing ( I do not want to insert lots of echo-commands :-) )
Or is the installation progress logged somewhere?
Thank you.
Kind regards

Hi Ingo,
Installation progress is handled by CRM and it is hard to say what these 5% mean.

Hi Max,
some news that might be interesting for you: I have set up a new instance of SuiteCRM 7.11.13 from the scratch. The GMAddon that can be downloaded from the Outfitters Store seems to be very different from the one that is deployed on the SuiteCRM store. Here: Version 2.2.1, released 2018/05/17. In the SuiteCRM store there is an older version 1.94 downloadable, released 2015/07/15.
The version 1.94 installs seamlessly, whereas the 2.2.1 hangs when installed on SuiteCRM 7.11.13. I tested this behavior on two servers, on a clone of our productive instance and multiple times with different Apache/PHP configurations on a local server. Progress bar stops either at 5% or at 88% (when installing beans). 2.2.1 throws many error of memory limit exceeded (although I set this to 2GB!) and end up with making the CRM unusable by creating an error 500.
Same server, different behavior depending on the version. So it is not a question of permissions. Something in the newer version 2.2.1 prevents your server component from being installed on SuiteCRM 7.11.13.
I am not sure whether I should mix up versions from different stores and using an older version from the Suite-store.
Any ideas?

Hi Ingo,
Thanks for the investigation. It sheds the light on the situation. SugarOutfitters is the store for SugarCRM. Apparently SugarCRM and SuiteCRM moved away from each other significantly. This is why if you are using SuiteCRM it is recommended to use the plugin from SuiteCRM Store.
