#1235 - Recurring Meeting with No End

I am giving the Gmail and Google Sync a test run.

Install went smoothly and I have activated the two way calendar sync.

Currently, there is one meeting that is scheduling out into infinity. I have received hundreds of meeting invitations for this meeting (Currently stretching out into 2040+). Where and how can I mark an end to the recurrence? I believe the origin of this meeting was an invite from a vendor (so outside of Sugar and Gmail).

    I have now noticed that the recurring meeting has stopped (sometime in 2040 the meetings finally end) but now it appears that the sync has stopped updating without completing. There are several meetings on my sugar calendar that are not reflected in Google Cal.

    Hi iturner,

    Please make sure you Calendar Scheduler is working now, because syncing stops when scheduler does not run in cron job. For your Recurring Event, if origin of your Meeting is Google Calendar then go under your Google Calendar and edit the meeting for recurrnce and stop it. Now this would be sync on Sugar side and your recurring event would be deleted for reoccurence.

    Where would I check to ensure that the Calendar Scheduler is working?

    Also, the meeting's origin is NOT in Gmail or Sugar, as I mentioned in my original message. It is from a vendor and is marked as recurring on their side.

    I checked the Scheduler in SugarCRM and it appears to be running (every 5 minutes) but all meetings are not synced into Google Calendar.

      Yes, I sent two emails to that address yesterday - one with sugar credentials and one with the meeting attached that caused the problems with reoccurrence.

    I just added a meeting in SugarCRM and it successfully synced over to my Google Calendar.

    There are still several meetings that are on my Sugar Calendar that have not synced over to my Google Calendar. The scheduler is still running - so it appears that it is working but not consistently. I also can not find any commonalities with the meetings that are not syncing, so I'm not sure what is causing it.

      I'm not sure what to do regarding your comment about deleting the reoccuring meeting. This was a monthly meeting that was scheduled every month for the past two years. Now it's scheduled through 2045. Are you saying I need to go into Google Calendar and delete all of them in order to get this resolved? Won't the sync just add it back to the calendar now that it's on my sugar calendar as well?

    No the related issue is not working fine now. Overall, this has bee a very frustrating experience.

    5 days with no follow up contact from you is not going to work when we are having a support issue. I think we may need to pursue another vendor for our sync issues if your support is not going to be responsive.

    1. The calendar sync is still not fully functional. Only about half of my Sugar calendar has migrated over to Google Calendar.
    2. The reoccurring meeting that scheduled out into 2040 still exists.

    I will post screen shots.

    We were looking into the issue via your admin account but that was showing every thing ok, We took your iturner account details but since last 2 days, credentials are not working for your own account.

    Please email us at support@rolustech.com for your account credentials which you are using to test sync process. Also We may need to access your server to look into the issues as We mostly observe issues due to different Server configurations and permissions issues.

    I'm not sure why you can't get logged in unless you're trying to log in during our normal business hours when I'm already logged in (9a.m.-5p.m. EST) - even then, it would let you log in and log me out. I have tested out the log in and password and it's working fine. Please try again?

    Hi Lisa,

    We investigated the issue and observed that there are couple of meetings with status "Held" which are not synced. As per the default functionality of GSync, all meetings with status 'Held' never get sync from Sugar to Google, You need to change their status other than "Held" to get it synced.

    Also for that recurring event, i.e "CBI- Open issues call" , Firstly disable GSync under GSync settings, then delete all meeting with this name from Sugar and then later delete this Event from Google. Now enable GSync again and you will get rid off this recurring Event because it was a recurring event into your Google which is why it is synced for 2040+

    Apart from above, Please share with us your Gmail Id credentials to give you more detailed observations that why your half of meeting are not synced into Sugar. You can send us these details privately at support@rolustech.com for security reasons.

    I am Lead Support engineer. I would like to help you guys. Just to fix the issue of reoccurring meeting, what we can do is, that we can open any event in Google Salendar and update its occurrence till some definite time instead of leaving it for unlimited time. It will also get updated in Sugar as per the updates after Sync gets executed.

    Regarding the Sync Process of Calendar: Can you please confirm that meeting "Kim Richardson" is assigned to which user. If that meeting is assigned to you then it should be sync . But if it will not sync if those records are not assigned to you. Please confirm.

    The Kim Richardson meeting was scheduled by someone else and is assigned to Adrienne Mayberry. I am an invitee to the meeting.

    I'm not really sure what you're saying. It doesn't make sense to me that it wouldn't be on my calendar if it's not assigned to me as a meeting can only be assigned to one person but have multiple attendees. It's on my calendar, I need it to sync regardless of if it is assigned to me or not.
