#1227 - Login as any user
This is actually three questions. I am using the trial version of Security Suite version 6.5.18 installed in SuiteCRM version 7.1.4. Question 1: We have four different user assignments (sales rep, secondary sales rep, applications engineer and aftermarket rep) that we might want to make on each opportunity and the users assigned to these duties will be different for each opportunity--dynamic teams. I was thinking that Security Suite would allow me to assign a single opportunity to these 4 individuals and then they would all see the opportunity in My Opportunities. But now I am thinking that Security Suite will only handle static teams. Is this true? Question 2: We would like to have access to the login as any user functionality but I don't see it anywhere. I read the documentation and it appeared that I would see a new action on the User Detail view to login as that user. My customer definitely wants this but I need to test it out to make sure has the desired functionality.Question 3: I was already using Security Groups in SuiteCRM. Does Security Suite version 6.5.18 give me any additional capabilities? Thanks, Dianna Whitt

Hi Dianna,
1) Correct, it doesn't allow for adding multiple, individual users. This is due to a limitation in how Sugar/Suite works. This is something that is on the roadmap to explore.
2) It will be in the actions on the user detail view. I'm unsure why you aren't able to see it. Make sure it is the Users module and not the Employees. Also try a Quick Repair and Rebuild along with a Repair Roles. Ensure that you have installed the trial version from here and that it isn't just the base version of SecuritySuite that is incuded in Suite. If that doesn't work I'll reach out via email to see if you can send a screenshot.

Jason, Thanks for the quick response. I did get the "login as any user" working and will pass along the information to my customer for his approval to purchase. Thanks also for confirming that we are currently unable to support a dynamic team in Sugar/Suite even with Security Suite. I was afraid that was the answer. I saw that people were talking on the forums about adding a Users sub-panel to get around the problem but I cannot see how that solves the issue of the assigned user (not assigned users). Dianna

Glad to help. You are right. A subpanel wouldn't solve the need as it wouldn't act like the assigned user field. For example, the "Show My Items" type of functionality throughout the application would not work if in a subpanel. It would basically be usable only as far as seeing visually who the reps and engineer are for an opportunity.
