#198 - Can one user has different role in different group
As subjected. Can user1 has "owner" role in groupA while has "group" role in groupB? If yes, how to set it?

Yes, you would assign the Owner role to Group A and the Group role directly to Group B. Then turn on "Strict Rights" which means that if Record 1 is assigned to Group A then User 1 would have Group A - Owner rights applied to the view of that record.

Thanks for the feedback. While the testing is failed.
I have tested 2 versions sugarcrm system. One is 6.5.11 with Securitysuite basic 2.6.4. The other is 6.2.0 with Securitysuite 2.3.2. The result is same.
First I set "group" role for GroupA , and "ower" role for GroupB. Checked on "Strict Rights" option in securitysuite setting. User1(new created) joined in GroupA. He can view the records of others, it had no problem. Then I added user1 into GroupB ( not quit GroupA). I found user1 can't view the records of others in GroupA anymore. The access right of him became "owner" even in GroupA.
Then user1 quit GroupB, his group right in GroupA restored.
It is system bug, or there is something wrong in my testing?

Make sure that Group A and Group B are assigned to the appropriate records (accounts, contacts, etc).

yes. I am sure the record's group assignment is correct. I created a few new accounts for testing. And, the interesting thing is, when user1 removed from GroupB, he can view the others account in GroupA (It proved the account assigment has no issue)

It's hard to spot any possible issues this way. Can you drop me an email with the following screenshots:

I posted screenshots @ http://forums.sugarcrm.com/f6/securitysuite-can-one-user-have-different-roles-different-groups-88082/ because I think it would be helpful for others if they have same problem as mine.

Thanks! Give me some time to replicate this one.

Do you find the same problem?

Only when "Additive Rights" was unchecked. Check this and it will work for your scenario.

Closing as it appears that everything is working as expected once "Additive Rights" is checked. Feel free to follow up if there are still issues.
