#2642 - Excel Sheets and date problem!
Dear Sirs,
I recently encountered strange behavior when exporting documents to excel sheets and only thing that I can correlate this with is Security Suite and perhaps Suite CRM database issue. When I use export as admin feature I don't have a problem dates are normally shown in Excel sheets.
But if I change the user rights to "regular user" and allow the same user to export full data using roles and security suite groups, exported dates are converted to text starting from random numbers. What's even worse I cannot change this at all no matter what I do. If I use format and set columns to "dates" or paste as values and convert to dates or when I use text to columns feature in Excel.
This is a problem when you are exporting 8000 records and you want to filter out dates according to some year or similar, it will give you wrong figures.
Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Slaven.

Since SecuritySuite doesn't currently touch individual field values I don't see how this is possible. It may be more of an issue in Suite between an admin user and a non-admin user. If you haven't already, be sure to validate the issue with the exact same records. If it is only for certain records for both admin/regular than it may be a data format issue.
I saw some changes to the export code in Suite over the past few releases. Have you upgraded lately?

Yes it could be, when I change date format to US on user accounts I don't have that problem. What's strange is that recently export was working with all date formats and dates were automatically converted to the format you have setup on Windows or based on the system you are opening Excel with. Now, they are randomly converted to text but just with non US date formats. Thank you.

That is really odd. For this issue I suggest posting on the SuiteCRM forums.

You can close this one now. I'm gonna have to look further. I got another issue I'm trying to resolve and I will post it as new case.
Thank you.
