#3959 - Roles not properly assigning module limitations!

Closed General Question created by it12 5 years ago

Dear Sirs,

One of the Roles in SuiteCRM is suddenly not assigning values properly and all users in that Role are affected. Not sure what could be wrong since we are on 7.8.8 with 3.1.12 SS for some time now.

Since the last time when it was working I have created custom module and deploy it and installed Analytic Reporting tool by IT Sapiens...but I'm not sure what's that got to do with Security Suite other then just hooking up module if needed.

Looking forward to your reply...please contact us for additional access details if needed.

Best Regards,

Slaven.

    Hi Slaven,

Can you expand upon what you mean by a role not assigning values properly, please? Is the issue just with the new custom module? Was the Hookup Tool used after deploying the module?

It may be worth running a Quick Repair & Rebuild, Rebuild Relationships, and a Repair Roles. This usually addresses any issues if all else is good.

    Thanks, Jason

      Hi Jason,

For instance, the roles that should be assigned are completely different from the one created under that particular Role and there are no other Roles that could modify rules. There's just one role showing different values when assigned to the user then the ones originally created under that Role.

I already have done all of that with QRR, RR, and repair roles..and no it's an issue with built-in Contacts module.

      Looking forward to your reply.

      Best Regards,

      Slaven.

Roles applied to a user come come from roles directly assigned to a user or through any Security Groups that a user is assigned to. To best see how those roles are being applied go to the User record in SuiteCRM and then the Access tab. There are some various settings under SecuritySuite Settings that will alter how these roles are applied.

Or are you saying that you assign Role A to a user and later on it is Role B? SecuritySuite can't change that so if that's the case it may be some other process or person doing that, unfortunately.

    Hi Jason,

Tnx for getting back. I have sent an email with more explanation to you on eggsurplus.com. Perhaps it's best if you can take a look at yourself on what's going on.

We worked this out via email to clarify how the role grid appears for default values vs how the user access tab then translates default values to the actual rights.

This case is public. Please leave out any sensitive information such as URLs, passwords, etc.
