#80 - Security suite, autorasation for making subpanel relations

Open Feature created by MichielNiemeijer 11 years ago

Hello Jason,

I have a question about your excellent module. It doesnt seem to be possible to set authorization for users to be able to make relationships through subpanels? For example: i would like to be able to make it impossible for users to add a contact to the subpanel 'contacts' on an accountsdetailpage, or also to remove an existing relationship. This is currently not possible, or is it?

thanks again in advance for your rpely,

kind regards,

Michiel Niemeijer

That is correct. By default SugarCRM does not put permission control on relationships specifically. Because of the 100s of possible relationships it makes it hard to manage roles/permissions. Since SugarCRM doesn't handle it SecuritySuite also doesn't handle it since there is nothing existing to add our Group access level. However, this could be a very useful feature to have. Something like this will take a very considerable amount of time to implement. Initial guess is 2-3 months of straight development time due to the enormous amount of testing that will be required. This is something I'd like to investigate further, but short term I don't see an easy answer yet.
