#588 - "Related To" Record Not have link in List view and at dashlet for task module
Hi Guys,
I had installed security group in my SugarCRM.I have created one user named "ahmad" belongs to some security group. Then this user created many task. When user goes to see their own task at List view or at dashlet of Tasks module then user observed that some of those task had no link to "Related To" record and some task had link. When same user open those record in detail view then "Related To" record had link always. Then I change user group to "ALL" then all "Related To" record had link.:)
I am confused about this behaviour. Can you please clarify my doubt?
Thanks & Regards, Manish Y.

Hello Manish,
SugarCRM will do this on the list view and dashlet view if the user doesn't have rights to the related record to view and/or list. So if the related record is an Account make sure that the user has rights to the Account. Meaning that if their Accounts view/list rights are set to Group then ensure that their group is assigned to the Account. The link should show then.
I hope that helps! -Jason

According to your logic list view and dashlet view works but detail view failed. In above two view "related to" field have no link but as I go to detail view of a record then "related to" record have link. I am consfuse about this behaviour. I think "Group" behaviour works only at List and dashlet view and not at detail view.
Please suggest!

That's what I'm seeing with how SugarCRM works. If you find otherwise do let me know. The List View/Dashlet logic is completely independent from the Detail View and SugarCRM handles it differently as a result. It can be confusing at times. But if a link doesn't show and they should have rights to see it do let me know. I haven't seen that happening in a few years, but you never know what may pop up.

I will explain you with an Example! User U1 assign to A1 group and U2 belongs to A2 group.U1 created one opportunity "opp1" and user U2 relate that "opp1" while creating task T1.Then for user U2, T1 at dashlet and list view have no link for "opp1". It works correctly as per group behavior because "opp1" belong to A1 group and A2 user is trying to view it. But when I goes to T1 detail view then any user can go to view "opp1" because at detail-view it shows link for "opp1". Here I confused somehow! Hope you understand my issue.

However, if they click the link Sugar should catch it and not allow the person to view "opp1". This is something odd in the Sugar code itself, but I'll keep this case open as I might just fix their code in a future release of SecuritySuite.
