Grant Admin Rights
Grant admin rights to normal users
Give users the ability to administer users, be admins for only certain modules, or even the ability to customize layouts only for certain modules with the new User Role Type setting now available in the Professional plan.
Role Configuration Options
User Role Types
There are three new User Role Types that most modules support. These types are allocated on the Roles grid. This gives you the flexibility to create override roles to grant some users greater rights than other users.
- Admin Rights - Gives a user full access to all records within that module regardless of role permissions.
- Studio Rights - Gives a user access to both Studio and the Dropdown Editor to customize the module.
- Admin & Studio Rights - Gives a user both Admin and Studio Rights as described above.
Use Cases
There are many use cases granting these new User Role Types. Here are a couple...
Sales Admin
Give your sales administrator the ability to manage all Accounts, Leads, Contacts, Opportunities, etc. Grant Admin & Studio Rights to empower them to optimize the screen layouts as well.
General User Admin
Need to give someone the ability to manage your organization's users without giving them full admin access? Under the new Users/Security Groups/Roles row grant the user Admin & Studio Rights. Now they can help to onboard new users, transition users to new roles, or make other tweaks specific to user management.
Note: Admins for the Users module will have access to the Users module, but not to create or edit from the Employees module.
Special User Admin Only Role
If you need to grant someone rights to create and edit users, assign them to roles and security groups, but not be able to edit roles then the new User Admin Only user type is the right option for you. This further locks down user admin rights to only the Users module.
Note: Admins for the Users module will have access to the Users module, but not to create or edit from the Employees module.
